SEO in Southampton and the Solent

A city of separate centres. Own yours first.

A quarter of a million people, two universities, the busiest cruise port in the country and a city that stretches from the docks to the edge of the New Forest. Google's map centres on wherever the phone is. We get Southampton businesses found in the centre they serve first, then the next one, with the work listed and the prices on the page.

The first ninety days

What happens, when, and what you will see

Profile changes show in weeks. Reviews build over months. New pages take three to six months in a city this size. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is describing a search nobody makes.

WhenWe doYou see
Week oneThe audit, the conversation, access to the profile and Search ConsoleA fixed price and a list of what is wrong, in order
Weeks two to sixThe profile rebuilt for your centre, the review routine started, the missing pages written on a private linkName searches and profile views rise; the pages go live when you have read them
Months two and threeCitations placed, a page or guide a month, replies to every review, the towns outside the cityImpressions for your service searches in Search Console, the map moving in your centre
Month three onwardThe next centre, the next page, the report every month with next month's list at the endCalls and forms you can trace to a search, or a plain conversation about why not

Who you are dealing with

One person, from the audit to the report

Southampton SEO is run by Daniel Stoychev, a developer and SEO specialist who builds the sites, sets up the profiles, reads the Search Console data and writes the reports himself. No account manager, no content farm, no dashboard instead of a conversation. The prices are on the website and they are the same for every business in the city.

Refused, whatever the client asks

  • A page for every suburb from Millbrook to Sholing with the name swapped. Google filters them and they drag the real pages down.
  • Bought links, bought reviews, reviews from friends.
  • A promised position. Nobody controls that; we control the work and show the numbers.
  • Your competitor as a client while you are with us.

Questions Southampton businesses ask us

What is different about SEO in Southampton?

Spread. Southampton is a city of separate centres: the waterfront and Ocean Village, Bedford Place and the university end, Shirley, Portswood, Bitterne and Woolston across the Itchen, then Eastleigh, Totton and Hedge End outside. Google's map re-centres on the phone, so a business is first in one and absent in the next. The plan starts with the centre you are in.

Do you cover Eastleigh, Totton and Hedge End?

Yes. They are separate map centres with their own competition, five or six miles out, and most trades win there before they win the city. A business that genuinely works in them gets one honest areas page with the distances and the jobs done there, never a copy per town.

What does one business per trade mean?

We take one plumber, one dentist, one marine engineer per map centre, because we cannot honestly push two rivals for the same searches. Your trade is confirmed free in the reply to the quote form, and if it is taken we say so.

Does the port matter for a business that has nothing to do with boats?

More than you would think. Two million cruise passengers a year search for taxis, food, hotels and parking from the terminals; the marine trade searches by the water; and the university and the hospital bring a churn of new residents who have nobody to ask and start every search on Google.

How quickly will I see enquiries?

Profile fixes show within weeks. The city-centre map is competitive for trades and clinics because the city is large and many profiles are kept; results are usually won centre by centre over three to six months, with the towns outside first.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

Three months minimum, because nothing meaningful shows in month one. After that it is monthly, and if it is not working by month six we say so before you do.
